Rob is a qualified and experienced fitness and yoga trainer, passionate about holistic health and helping you to make positive changes to your wellbeing.

Rob’s journey... From fitness enthusiast to holistic health expert.

Having run gyms, personal trained with the rich and famous around the World and spent time in Thailand and Nepal to learn from some of the most experienced yoga instructors Rob has built a wealth of knowledge and experience to help you.

Rob's background and experience

Having been working in gyms since the late 80s Rob started studying for his diploma of exercise while living in London in early 2000. From there he went on to work in various private gyms helping others react their fitness goals.

In 2003 Rob started his own gym and successfully ran it for 7 years before moving back to New Zealand at the end of 2010 where he set up Gym 101 in Mount Maunganui.  A mix of exercise classes, personal training and working with athletes across different sports. Some of them went onto win national titles for the first time in their careers.

Over a career spanning over 20 years Rob has studied and learnt from amazing teachers through from around the world,  USA, Canada, UK, Nepal, Thailand and here in New Zealand.

Holistic training and nutrition.

Rob started to study a more holistic way of training and nutrition on himself once he gave up alcohol to see what worked and didn't work for his body.

He spent time in Thailand to and put himself through fasts and detoxes, as well as joining 10 day silent meditation retreats up in the jungles and it was there Rob discovered yoga and Thai massages for the first time. Both practices he I studied both intensely.

Rob's skills have developed over the years through constantly learning and training a vast range of people from youths to elderly, CEO’s of large banks and high level athletes who have performed on the National and World stages.

I've trained with Rob on and off for 12 years, he makes me work hard, with a caring brutality and knowledge that makes you love and hate him in the perfect way. A great trainer!
